The Language and Context Lab conducts empirical research on the interaction between languages and their extralinguistic environment, especially in interdisciplinary contexts. We are specialized in collecting and analyzing real-world linguistic data through fieldwork or corpus analysis. We use this data to investigate how languages are shaped by culture, their social context, and their geographical and physical environment. Areas of research include:
