政大語言學/英語教學學術工作坊 ******************************************** 講者：Dr. Vojtěch Juřík / Department of Psychology, Masaryk University, Czech Republic 題目：Virtual Reality and Wearable Devices in Experimental Research on Behavior and Emotions 摘要：In this talk, I will present how virtual reality (VR) technology and wearable devices can be used within experimental methodology in psychology to create controlled, immersive, and ecologically valid research settings, including the generation of data for subsequent applications such as machine learning. I will focus specifically on heart rate monitoring as an objective physiological measure that can complement self-report and behavioral data in experimental studies. 政大語言學/英語教學學術工作坊 ******************************************** 講者：Prof. Lutz Marten, SOAS, University of London 題目：Explorations in Bantu-Chinese contrastive linguistics 摘要：In this talk I will survey some typological features of Bantu languages, one of the main language families of Africa. There are about 500 Bantu languages including well-known languages such as Swahili, as well as numerous community languages, many of which are endangered. Typologically, Bantu languages are well-known for their complex noun class systems and the intricacies of the tonal processes. They display complex verbal morphology, and often show syntactic freedom highly sensitive to information structure. I will specifically focus on three aspects of Bantu typology, which resonate with comparable structures in Chinese languages: tone, nominal classification, and locative inversion (thus looking at phonology, morphology, and syntax).
